„World-class“ – Wolfram and Martin Lattke sang Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Riccardo Chailly in Florence und Leipzig
amarcord’s tenors Wolfram and Martin Lattke successfully sang the solo parts in Riccardo Chailly’s performances of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, on December 17th and 18th at the legendary „Teatro del Maggio Musicale” in Florence as well as on January 7th and 8th in the singer’s hometown Leipzig. The press reaction was enthusiastic: Wolfram Lattke was certified a shepherd’s aria of “world-class level”. Besides the two tenors the superb Gewandhaus Orchestra under Maestro Riccardo Chailly and the Dresden Chamber Choir were praised. The performances in Leipzig were recorded by DECCA and will be published on CD at Christmas 2010.
The Norwegian Per Arne Glorvigen will be appearing in Hamburg on January 30th. Together with the NDR Symphony Orchestra under Kristjan Järvi he is performing Astor Piazzolla’s concerto for bandoneon and orchestra. Glorvigen is one of the most important bandoneon soloists these days and became known internationally through his concerts and tours with Gidon Kremer. In May he is invited to perform with the Korean Chamber Orchestra in Seoul. The chamber orchestra celebrates its 30th birthday in 2010 with an anniversary season and an international star cast, among whom, besides Per Arne Glorvigen, are also Maxim Vengerov and Vadim Repin.
